- Scientific name:Electrophorus electricus
- It is the member of knife fish family
- They found in Muddy of Amazon and Orinocus rivers in South America
- Live in shallow ,muddy water and come to surface every 10mins for breathing via atmosphere air🏝
- They can reach 8feet in length and weight up to 44pounds
- They are carnivores,feed on other fishes and amphibians ,mammals.
- They live around 15-22years
- They are mostly blind and use radars like system of electrical pulses to navigate and find food
- They can travel at speeds of up to 5miles per hour😜.
How they produce electricity?
- They have 2main organs hunter organ and sach organ.Both organ can generate high and low voltage electricity😉.
- Electricity producing organ takes place 80%of their body .It is used for against the predators and also for stunning (attract) the prey😌.
- This eels have around 6000 cells (known as electrocyte) within it and produce electricity☠.
- They can generate a power of 600 volts ,which is 5times stronger than electricity generated in standard US wall socket.
- 20feet long eels produce enough electricity to light 12 light bulbs.🤓
